random tots: The not so year-end post

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 19, 2007, 8:28 PM
I just felt the need to blog about this now...

So this is not a year-end post just updates on how I felt at the moment. I was just a bit shocked that the year is almost over. Six days to go and it's already Christmas and 12 days to go before the coming of the new year. Year 2006 was a year of trials and warm welcomes, this year was the year of faith and letting go. (I will elaborate on my next post)

I will be attending a get-together party on the 28th (in short I'll be seeing new friends that are worthy to receive a token of my appreciation). This party will be after my long awaited company Christmas party (the day when our 13th month and bonus - I hope - would be released) I still wish they give it to me now wahahaha.

I still need a new planner and gifts for my sisters, dad and mom. I'll be giving away cakes for relatives and I was actually thinkin of giving away sketchpads to friends (But i'm having second thoughts because I want a custom made one). I will be seeing my highschool friends that demands gift this Sunday. I was just lucky enough I got a few kiddie shirts for my godchildren (awww -and most are my designs). If only people would just ask for a big warm hug from me (That would be very rare though lols), it would be easier I guess.

I haven't finished making my Christmas Cards and probably do a small calendar so that it would be more functional... (I hope to have everything printed after Christmas.

I need to finish the first chapter of the story I'm doing (It would be my old stories merged and probably refurnished in a better illustration with colors). I need to start over my Tarot Card series using my original characters so that it may help me in the color keys and guide for future purposes. So many people ask me to draw them something (I can't even keep track of the requests). Sorry if I was a bit lazy and slow in doing art request - I was just busy and lazy when I'm at home.

I'm so bored I don't want to go to work anymore this month!!!

I need to buy new dvd's for the quick vacation break next week. I need a new bag! A preferably black-leather-big bag (almost like something I saw in Guess the other day - but it costs too much awww). I just saw a friend of mine carrying the bag I wanted 2 months ago from GOLA (It really made me feel sad - because I didn't have the chance to buy it... I was glad I bought my self a nice pair of shoes in SM North's the Block. I'm glad I already have my flight to Davao booked as early as this month for my vacation in February 2008.

I'm very thankful that people still visit my sites... I thank you - the person who find my life interesting... I am always thankful to God for everything and hope to fill my passport with stamps from different agencies next year :D

Random-random-random (I'm missing so many people and places)

I need to get back to work... and I hope the broadband connection in our home be ok before Christmas...

Besos y abrazos!

Catch me if you can!

So many things has happened for the past week

:: I attended two session of animation workshop in Ayala Museum.

Actually as docents we are supposed to assist the kids and pre-teens through the workshop but it ends up that we are also the participants. Everyone in the workshop was excited and full of smiles that day. I enjoyed the workshops and the freebies that come with it (hehehe I have a chicken flip-book heheh). I even have a copy of the animation I did in my pc. The only problem is that I have no quicktime player harharhar. Pat and me also had the chance to know some of the docents of last year and have the opportunity to chat and have lunch with them. Its always nice to go to the museum specially if you have a crush on someone there (who? Heheh).

:: A CAS Faculty meeting on the MMR 3A

It was a great sunny day! We had a meeting with the dean and associate dean of CAS, president and chancellor of UE. I had the chance to meet the chancellor for the first time and hear all of the formers speeches. I also had a chance to have quick chat with ched (a new co-faculty). I had lunch with three new faculties after I assisted them in having their ID picture taken at SAO. I was just surprised of my co-faculty because we were former actors in the same play when I was still in high school (that made me feel old after realizing hehehe). Hope to have a time to chit-chat with them again.

:: I did a bittersweet ribbon for meann

Meann was here the other day and she requested for a ribbon for her blogsite. Well I did one. It was glad seeing her again. Love you menggay!

:: I went to Midori Hirota’s Exhibit opening in Green papaya art project with pat. It was a worth while experience.

Having lived and worked in Indonesia—as artist and curator—for over five years, Hirota has a special insight into contemporary Asian art. In this light, she embarks on an investigation of the socio-cultural significance of public markets in the everyday life of ordinary people in Yogyakarta, Nagoya and Manila in the Pasar-Ichiba-Talipapa project.

Her most recent works also deal with the devastating earthquake that hit Yogyakarta last May 27, and her experience as a volunteer and interpreter for the Japan Defense Force doing relief work in the affected region. In The Back of Affection, which she will show in an exhibit which will open August 3 at Green Papaya Art Projects, Hirota turns to the intricacies of human interactions as a way of dealing with this experience. "Everybody has his way of expressing affection, but usually people wear masks. Sometimes it's hard for us to really understand and feel what the other think. You are not sure that even if he is smiling, behind his smile, who knows if he's crying." (Hirota)

:: Went to the Block, SM North Edsa after meeting Midori for the first time

Joseph was truly a kind guy; he joined me for a tour to the newly opened building in SM North. Actually I was waiting for the trinkets he got me from his trip (I actually forgot what country it was…. I’m so forgetful). Having dinners with him truly makes my UP classes a bit lighter because I can release to him all the things I needed to vent. And we have a series of similarities in interests which makes all the conversations fun. I met Midori Hirota for the first time. She was a superwoman! Two thumbs up!

:: Watch several movies and documentaries

50 First Dates, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Dead Poets Society, Raising Helen, National Geographic specials on Spain, Egypt, Angkor Wat, Hindustan, Africa, the giant squid, etc.

:: Loving the rain

I love it when it rains. It makes me feel relieved from all anxiety and stress. (pero nakakainis me sipon padin ako wehehehe –sneezes-)
